Donald Trump turned his sights on his biggest supporter among the GOP primary challengers on Saturday, taking aim at Vivek Ramaswamy and telling supporters the Republican businessman is “not MAGA” in a post on Truth Social. And his surrogates are unleashing hell, too.
Trump is on his way to Iowa for the caucus vote, which will be taking place in record cold weather as a brutal winter storm that also forced an NFL game day change is marching across the Midwest to the northeast.
Trump said overnight that the weather might benefit his campaign in the state, and apparently he also thinks shaving off any support for Ramaswamy would as well, because he finally took a hard shot at the one primary challenger who is by far the least likely to fire back.
“Vivek started his campaign as a great supporter, ‘the best President in generations,’ etc. Unfortunately, now all he does is disguise his support in the form of deceitful campaign tricks. Very sly, but a vote for Vivek is a vote for the “other side” — don’t get duped by this,” said Trump. “Vote for ‘TRUMP,’ don’t waste your vote! Vivek is not MAGA. The Biden Indictments against his Political Opponent will never be allowed in this Country, they are already beginning to fall! MAGA!!!”
Trump campaign advisor Chris LaCivita unleashed on Ramaswamy on X just an hour before Trump’s Truth Social post, with a retweet of an image that likely is what set off the turn. The photo, shared by the candidate, shows him with a group of voters wearing “Save Trump, Vote Vivek” t-shirts.

An hour later, Trump’s Truth Social attack was posted, and LaCivita shared that on his X account, writing “And here ya go….”
The weather may yet be a factor in voter turnout, thought it is up for debate which candidate, if any, would benefit from or be hurt by that.
