Former President Donald Trump insists on using ketchup that only comes in tiny bottles due to his “very potent fear of being poisoned.”

This odd bit of ephemera was revealed Wednesday evening on Jimmy Kimmel Live, when former Trump aide turned tell-all book author Cassidy Hutchinson dished on her experience working in the Trump White House.

The curious bit of information came after host Jimmy Kimmel asked, “How often did the president throw ketchup at the wall?” This was about Hutchinson’s testimony to the House Select Committee on January 6th, which included a detail of her witnessing ketchup dripping down the White House dining room wall, ostensibly due to Trump’s rage.

The question itself elicited roughly 15 seconds of Hutchinson trying to contain her laughter at the absurdity of the affair, but she collected herself and explained:

Hutchinson: So, he, Donald Trump has, I don’t know if you know this or if anybody’s this is I don’t know if… he does have a very potent fear of being poisoned.

Kimmel: Did not know he had a fear of being poisoned.

Hutchinson: Well, now you do. Uh huh. So he uses and prefers the small Heinz glass bottles because he likes to hear his valet, whoever is serving him this meal. He likes to hear the pop when he …

Kimmel: Really? That’s why? I thought his hands were so little. It seemed like like a real ketchup bottle. Its for poisoning huh. Do you think he’s. got this fear of being poisoned from all the ex-wives or where did he…

Hutchinson: Or is it Russia? I don’t know..

Kimmel: Good to know. I don’t think Russia’s poisoning him.
