Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) responded in kind Friday night when pro-Palestinian demonstrators targeted his home with flags and chants.

In a video posted to X, an Israeli flag appeared on Fetterman’s rooftop as protesters shouted below: “Fetterman, Fetterman, you can’t hide, you’re supporting genocide!” It wasn’t immediately clear if Fetterman himself was waving the flag.

Demonstrators have targeted the Pennsylvania Democrat ever since he gave his unequivocal support to Israel, saying he would stand behind “any necessary military, intelligence, and humanitarian aid to Israel.”

Shortly after the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks, hundreds of protesters gathered outside Fetterman’s Philadelphia office and planned similar protests at the senator’s other Pennsylvania offices.

Politico reported that Pennsylvania is home to  “the fifth-largest Jewish population of any state in the nation.”

Earlier this month, Fetterman defended Israel against accusations of genocide as the International Court of Justice prepared to hear the case brought by South Africa.

During a fiery address before the Orthodox Union, Fetterman said:

Who are we? Who are they really fighting? It’s a group of cowards. They hide in tunnels. They hide behind civilians. They attack, kill, and usually children murder. And they do that. Stop talking about proportion on that. They shot their best shot on October 7th, and they would have taken more lives if they could’ve done that.

But they couldn’t do it. And now let’s also talk about that. Now we’re talking about genocide. And now South Africa is now bringing that kind of a trial. Maybe South Africa, maybe ought to sit this one out where they’re talking about criticizing, given the history there. Sit it out.

In Friday’s ruling, the ICJ “ordered Israel to refrain from any acts that could fall under the Genocide Convention and to ensure its troops commit no genocidal acts in Gaza.” But the court stopped short of calling for an immediate ceasefire, Reuters reported.

Since the deadly Hamas raid on Israeli festivalgoers, Fetterman has displayed posters of the kidnap victims in his D.C. office, pledging, “They will stay up until every single person is safely returned home.”
