The good governance organization American Oversight filed litigation demanding that the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Army expedite the release of any records related to the incident that occurred during former President Donald Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetary.

The DOD released the documents to American Oversight but essentially redacted most of the information.

The details list the Offense(s) as 1. Simple Assault (Federal (USC/CFR) – 18 ISC 113(a)5)), which confirmed that a physical confrontation was reported that day.

Trump was filming a campaign ad at Section 60, which limits photos and videos since it was the soldiers who recently died in times of war. There is a higher likelihood of a funeral or a family member visiting or someone who may not want their family member’s headstone used for political purposes.

Under the section for “Victim,” details were blacked out.

The summary reads: “On 26 August 2024 at 1030 hours, the Joint Base Myer – Henderson Hall (JBM-HH) Police Department was notified by [redacted] of the following incident: While working at the Arlington National Cemetary, [redacted] with both of [redacted] hands while attempting to move past [redacted]. [Redacted’ did not require medical attention on scene and later refused when offered.”

It included the sworn statement from the redacted individual as well, which was also heavily redacted.

Trump wrote on Truth Social it was a “made up story.”
