Donald Trump offered fresh criticism of special counsel Jack Smith, unleashing a tirade of posts on his Truth Social account attacking the prosecutor for ramping up investigative efforts over the classified documents found at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago home last year.

“The Special ‘Prosecutor,’ Jack Smith, who is harassing, threatening, and terrorizing people who work for me, probably illegally, and totally at odds with the way Crooked Joe Biden is being treated, will no longer be known as the Special ‘Prosecutor,’ but rather, the Special ‘Persecutor,’” Trump wrote in a post early Saturday morning. “He is a Trump Hating SLIMEBALL who is going far beyond the original instructions of the Department of Injustice. The Witch Hunt continues, as it always will, with the Radical Left, Country Destroying, Lunatics!”

AT LEAST EIGHT ‘FAKE’ GEORGIA ELECTORS ACCEPT IMMUNITY DEAL AMID TRUMP INVESTIGATION

The post comes after it was reported earlier this week that prosecutors have subpoenaed a number of Trump employees over the last few weeks in connection to the handling of surveillance footage at Mar-a-Lago after the Trump Organization was subpoenaed for the tapes last summer, according to reports. Those subpoenas mark a major development in the classified documents case as it could set up some of Trump’s closest allies as witnesses against him in a future trial.

Trump faces a number of other criminal investigations and trials, with developments occurring across the East Coast on Friday evening — possibly contributing to Trump’s outburst.

Attorneys rested their respective cases in Manhattan federal court on Thursday in the defamation trial of former magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll, who accused Trump of raping her in the 1990s and later sued after he claimed she lied about the allegations. Trump did not testify in the trial and has repeatedly denied all wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, it was reported Friday evening that at least eight of the Republican “fake electors” in Georgia have accepted immunity deals in the criminal investigation looking into Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Their cooperation could offer key insights into the former president’s efforts to reverse President Joe Biden’s win in a crucial battleground state that helped him secure the presidency.

Shortly after his first post on Truth Social, Trump followed up with a second statement that seemingly responded to all the investigative updates — warning followers that it’s a “dangerous” time for the country.

“All of these Fake Prosecutions are merely being done to Interfere with, and Influence, our Elections,” he wrote. “It is a dangerous time in America!!!”
